EDITORIAL WORK

lockdown

Photography by Alessandra Duarte

Lockdown has been interrupted, used or sometimes inaccessible for a lot of people. Tools we put away are being dusted off and given purpose again. Connections rekindled. Others have taken a toll on themselves to reflect on who they are. As an artist, it’s important to keep practising, prepare ourselves for the next project. Fernanda Lippi and Alessandra Duarte show us the various stages millions of people have felt and put themselves through while the world around them began to crack.

Claire Nathan has been following my work since 2013, she’s got a unique ability to capture moments fully. This is an ongoing project with photoshoots for editorial purposes, behind-the-scenes photography to conceptual work. I’ve been choosing the most exciting sustainable brands, from fashion to design to sustainably sourced flowers, to make up everything and compose work for the screen for the stage for photography, working with directors, acting coaches and a kickass team of women behind the camera.

Found objects

This series reflects the relationship between art, design, photography and sustainability that goes back many years and has been realized through many different genres, across many mediums and time periods. Works are defined as sustainable if they are made of upcycled maters, found objects and are made through processes that do no damage to the earth’s resources. These creations seek to celebrate the exuberant beauty of sustainable fashion, the sustainable ways to live on our planet while highlighting the stark reality of environmental degradation and climate change.
